We ordered a stand for a totally new product (to us) today for Vertex Allure strip vinyl.

It’s kind of along the lines of Karndean – plank and tile format in strip form – but the big difference is that each strip has an adhesive lip on it to make it a doddle to install. This makes it a floating floor and means that you can fit it easily with minimal subfloor preparation.

It looks a great product and we hope to sell a lot of this fitted and for DIY-ers. Sidestepping subfloor preparation means the speed and cost of fitting it puts it within the reach of those people who have liked the idea but have been priced out of buying things like Karndean. Fair enough it isn’t fitted with feature strips etc but it is still a striking and cracking product.

The stand arrives on Friday so we shall see then but the rep did come out with the usual rep-style line: “Karndean are shitting themselves about this.” I have my doubts! Karndean is a great product and I think it will continue to be successful, but at least this gives a new option for customers on a lower budget and keen DIY-ers.

New Product!
